Growing up, when I heard adults say, “It’s the thought that counts,” my first thought was, “I agree, if by thoughts, you mean gifts, and by gifts, you mean that kick-ass Lego spacecraft model at Toys R’ US that is very reasonably priced at $10,000,000.”
The older I've gotten the more I've realized that birthdays should always be celebrated because the alternative sucks! And having friends is a blessing. You picked a good one when you asked that fantastic woman to marry you. It's no wonder I think she's great too. Let me jump in here and let the world know that both my nephews have been wise enough and lucky enough to have chosen WONDERFUL and accomplished women!
Happy Birthday again, Mikey! Every day is a gift in itself. ❤️❤️❤️
I agree...and it's hard to see that on the harder days, but I still manage to, and it's cliché and people hate to hear it (for a reason I can't grok), but it's definitely true!!!!
I used to try calling you from time to time, but you never answered. You're brother said you didn't use the phone. I'd be happy to keep in touch if you're actually answering nowadays.
Your mother is the Queen of Thoughts That Count with those matching shorts she used to make us. I recently decided to carry on the tradition with your nieces, because I was talking to them about their music lessons a few times at lunch with Sam, so I'm making them a playlist of cool violin and cello stuff from YouTube. I don't know how to make shorts, but I do watch a lot of recorded live performances. It's cool that Mina plays cello and you play guitar, so y'all can teach your kids from an early age.
Speaking of guitar, you should check out this guy. Cast this to a TV. It's too cool for cellphone viewing. His whole band is crazy good, but the fiddle and guitar are batshit crazy good. Some of the most insane solos I've ever heard in this. https://youtu.be/IoRoQvL53PU?is=7b-X8rSdniI6Htek
I remember that phase of my life, and I'm more inclined to talk on the phone now, than ever, but thanks to 2 and 4 year old kids, I'm around my phone with time to talk less than ever before, but I'll reach out to you soon to catch up! I'll be sure my mom sees this wonderful (true) compliment too! That's rad with the playlist. I've so far written tons of songs with my kids, but we only recorded one: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-DtCpvGf9Y) and you better pick up when I call! (I'm kidding)
Love you! 😘

What a lovely gift!
And yay Wakil!
Thank you Mike. I'm pretty sure God danced the day you were born! It's been a deep pleasure trading podcasts and getting aquatinted.
The feeling is mutual!!
