I'll never know why I really left California for a college in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, especially one that I'd never even visited, but I do have five reasons locked and loaded when someone asks:
I can't wait for next week to see how this ends up! It must be in our gene pool somewhere because as USF was in its infancy, they didn't even think of starting up sororities/fraternities for the first year and, when they did, I was invited to a one of their "sessions." I politely declined the invitation and never looked back. They probably would have kicked me out too! 😂😂😂
I never thought of Tampa as being "Southern" other than where it was located. That may have changed since I left in 1964, but it was such a remarkable mixture of cultures at that time, it always felt more cosmopolitan.
Mike, I read the three part story back to back, but writing here since this is where it started. Great story telling and writing! Though not necessarily all fun and games for you, I “enjoyed” reading!
something a lot of your readers, at least this one can relate to!
thanks! :)
Great story, I can't wait for the next installment.
thanks!

I'm surprised it wasn't high priority at your school (because I associate it so strongly with the South)!

to this "west coast kid" it's the south, but when you compare it to "the real south" it's WAY too latin! :)
